This itinerary is built around water as much as wildlife. It opens with two full days in the Masai Mara for classic open-plains game drives, then turns north into the Rift Valley proper: Lake Nakuru for its rhino sanctuary and flamingo-lined shore, Lake Bogoria for its steaming hot springs and geysers alongside one of Kenya’s largest flamingo populations, and Lake Naivasha for a boat safari among hippo pods and fish eagles.
Each lake has a genuinely different character despite sitting in the same rift, which keeps the trip visually varied even without changing terrain dramatically. It’s a good option for travelers who’ve done a standard Mara safari before and want to see a less-visited side of the Rift Valley on the same trip.
