Overview

The trip, in short

A five-day safari through the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, combining game drives with a boat safari.

This route covers three of Kenya’s most reliable safari stops without over-extending the trip. It opens with two full days in the Masai Mara, the country’s best-known reserve, for open-plains game drives and, in season, migration sightings, before heading north to Lake Nakuru for rhino tracking and its flamingo-lined shore.

The trip closes at Lake Naivasha with a boat safari among hippo pods and fish eagles — a relaxed, low-key way to end a few days of game drives before heading back to Nairobi. Five days is enough to give each stop a proper visit without feeling rushed.
