The property
One of the very few lodges built inside the Mara reserve itself, meaning wildlife sightings can start on the lodge grounds — famous locally for its sunrise balloon safaris and open-jeep "jungle safari" drives.
Muthu Keekorok holds a distinction few Mara properties can claim — it sits inside the reserve boundary itself, which means the pool and sundeck sometimes offer a genuine wildlife sighting before a single game drive has begun. Buffalo, warthog and the occasional cat have all been spotted crossing the open ground just beyond the terrace.
The lodge leans into that location with a roster of experiences built specifically around it: a sunrise hot-air balloon that lifts off nearby and ends with a champagne breakfast on the plains, and an open-sided “jungle safari” jeep used for closer, slower Big Five tracking than a standard vehicle allows. Add a multi-cuisine restaurant with a proper wine list and bush dinners arranged under open sky, and Muthu Keekorok earns its reputation as one of the more experience-driven stays inside the reserve itself.
