Overview

The trip, in short

A four-day, three-night Masai Mara safari with three full days of game drives, a Maasai village visit and an optional balloon safari.

Four days is the sweet spot for a Masai Mara safari — long enough for three genuinely full days of game drives without feeling rushed, short enough to fit into most trip lengths. Mornings and evenings are spent out on the plains tracking the resident prides, elephant herds and, depending on the season, the migration itself, while the middle of the day is left for camp downtime.

One afternoon is set aside for a visit to a local Maasai village, giving some cultural context alongside the wildlife, and there’s the option to add a dawn hot air balloon flight over the plains on any morning of the stay. It’s a straightforward, well-paced itinerary that works well both as a standalone trip and as the safari leg of a longer Kenya itinerary.
